Type: Part –time fixed term maternity cover (9 -12 months)
Hours: 2 days - (16hrs) Tuesdays/Thursdays





Outline of Charity:  Based at the new purpose built Bradbury House Clinic in Bradley Stoke, The West of England MS Therapy Centre supports those living with neurological conditions providing therapy, complementary treatments and vital long-term support and rehabilitation not available on the NHS.

We are looking for an outgoing and proactive Community/Business Development Officer to support the team in the running and promotion of a variety of events and developing charity of the year relationships with businesses in our catchment area.

Main duties for running the events:

  • Work with the other members of the team to organise, support and deliver the calendar of events for 2019.   This will include some weekend and evening working.
  • Working with volunteers to organise and support them in the delivery of the planned events.
  • Working with participants to make sure that they are given all the information and supported in their fundraising efforts.
  • Identify, research and develop new fundraising initiatives and event opportunities to include in our 2020 events calendar.

Main duties for developing links with businesses:

  • Develop our regional engagement with businesses and other local organisations to increase awareness and income.  Build new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
  • Identify prospects and projects and help develop relationships with corporate partners including the organisation and development of the existing business networking events.  
  • To give talks on the charity’s aims, role and future goals to help cement new and existing relationships with businesses and organisations.
  • Work closely with our Volunteer Coordinator to develop opportunities and a network for corporate volunteers.
  • Develop fundraising concepts and materials aimed at businesses and organisations in our region.

Hours of Work:

  • The Centre is open from 09:00 to 17:30. Hours of work will be flexible for the right candidate and the hours will need to fit the job not vice-versa.
