Good business sense

Most people agree that today the business world has an important role to play in helping to create vibrant communities, tackle social disadvantages and create an environment where people can flourish. At The West of England MS Therapy Centre we work alongside companies, both large and small, to create positive changes for people who are living with a neurological condition, to be able to receive treatments and therapies so they can manage their condition better and be independent for longer .

Together we can achieve more. Here are some of the companies we have team up with.

Corporate Partnerships
Working with a company is about more than receiving financial support. It’s about developing a mutually beneficial partnership, where both organisations share skills, expertise and knowledge to achieve more within our community. One of our partnerships was with GENeco; they designed and built a garden with raised beds at the Centre. We linked up with the local school and the children grew pumpkins in our garden, raising sponsorship from the size of their pumpkin. Later on in the year we had 400 children wearing fancy dress costumes at the Centre, along with their pumpkins. Prizes were given to the best costumes and pumpkins by our guest judges from GENeco, the Local Mayor, the Manager of Sainsbury’s East Filton and the Head of Wheatfield Primary school and all was captured by the local press and media. A perfect way of showcasing companies, a primary school and a charity working in harmony within its community!

Charity of the year
A Charity of the Year partnership with The West of England MS Therapy Centre is a fantastic way to motivate and engage your employees while helping us to raise vital funds and awareness about our Centre and your business. Last year we teamed up with Rolls Royce Apprentices Association, Sainsbury’s East Filton, Parmenion, GE Oil & Gas and Bristol Junior Lawyers Division. They hosted a number of events, from walks, skydives, runs and even a trolley dash! We are currently working alongside TSB; employees have run a number of fundraising events and are hosting a virtual cycle ride from Keypoint, Bristol to Edinburgh.

So if you are thinking of Charity of the Year partnership or in the process of choosing your next charity, we would love to hear from you.

Cause Related Marketing & Sponsorship
Research has shown that 77% of customers are positively influenced by a cause related promotion at the point of purchase or decision-making’ (Business in the Community). Over two thirds of consumers (68%) are still calling for more companies to be involved in Cause Related Marketing. It helps increased brand affinity and equity, positive consumer perception, loyalty and buying behaviour. It can be highly productive for both the company involved and the charity and is seen by clients as a great way of supporting a good cause. Call us today if you have a commercial idea or product and want to explore how we can work together.

Payroll Giving
If running a marathon or climbing Kilimanjaro is not for you but you would like to make a contribution, you can through payroll giving, which allows you to make donations directly from your salary and you get tax relief on your donation . The donations are made after your National Insurance contribution is calculated but before Income Tax is worked out and deducted, you only pay tax on what's left.
Talk to your HR department or personnel department about whether a scheme is already in place, but if not, setting up a scheme is easy, and the costs are minimal. To learn more about how payroll giving works visit HMRCOr register with one of the following Payroll Giving Agencies and they will talk you through the process: Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)Charitable Giving; or the Charities Trust
